Hypnosis. What it is, and what it isn't1/18/2022 Hypnosis often conjures up the idea of some sort of loss of control of one’s mind. But is that grounded in reality? Is there a loss of control while in a hypnotic trance state?
The word “trance” implies a state of semi-consciousness, in which an individual is unaware of what is going on around them and is incapable of taking any action for themselves. Or perhaps your mind goes to the entertaining use of stage hypnosis. Neither of these scenarios are reflective of what takes place during a Beyond Quantum Healing Session. The word hypnosis simply means “the coming on of sleep”. You see, it is a natural state of relaxation that is entered daily as we drift off to sleep. Most clients report that there were no tell tale signs that they were in a state of hypnosis, and that they simply felt relaxed throughout the session. The whole intent with hypnosis as it is used in BQH is to quiet the thinking, rational mind in order to access the wisdom that resides within the subconscious. A very small percentage of people will naturally go into a deeper state of hypnosis called a somnambulistic state. This is what’s happening during sleepwalking. The body is awake, but the higher mind is asleep and usually not much of the episode will be recalled upon waking. For those people who are natural somnambulists they will remember little of what they experienced in a session. This does not minimize the benefits gained from the process. But it is helpful for these clients especially, to have a recording of their session to watch at a later time. One study indicated that sleepwalking occurs in 29% of children. In adults the prevalence is about 4%. But just because you sleepwalk does not necessarily mean you will go into a somnambulist state during hypnosis. I can tell you this from personal experience! As a child I had frequent sleepwalking episodes and I do still have an occasional occurrence as an adult. Yet I have never gone into a somnambulist state during any of the numerous hypnosis sessions I have experienced. Clinical hypnotherapy is yet another approach and it relies upon the use of hypnotic suggestions as a means to benefit clients. Beyond Quantum Healing does not employ clinical hypnotherapy techniques such as hypnotic suggestion. What needs to be stated about the hypnotic state is that individuals always retain their free will and cannot be convinced to do anything that they would not normally do during a fully alert state. BQH clients report feeling relaxed as they receive a flow of information, of which they cannot explain the origin, yet it holds deep meaning for them. If you are feeling some interest in experiencing this for yourself let’s connect! #StayCurious
